Welcome!

I'm going to be the best writing teacher I can be. My class rules are to take care of each other and make good decisions. Other than that, we're going to start with the basics and build up from there. Sharpen your pencils and get some lined paper -- this is going to be fun!

I use my 5th grade class photo for a lot of avatars because it reminds me that I'm still that little guy somewhere inside. If you don't know what I mean, read Sandra Cisneros's short story "Eleven". So much of what I am doing is teaching the way I wish I had been taught earlier in my life. I have sought out techniques to be the best I can be, and I'm happy to share!
Please reach out if you cannot find an answer to your question.
My calling is to make the process of writing achievable, and dare I say, fun. Writing does not need to be painful. I use best practices to guide students with explicit instruction and earnest coaching. As the gold standard of critical thinking, being a capable writer is becoming more and more crucial in our modern world. If you are struggling with a blank page, or how to respond to a text, or where to begin, I can show you the way.
